Parenting Plans:

Creating a Parenting Plan helps parents address issues around parenting apart. What should be included in a parenting plan?

Take a look at these issues:

1. Sharing parenting time: Where will your child live? How much time will your child spend with each parent, including vacations, holidays, and special events?

2. Growing children and the changes that will take place over time: What age is your child at the time of the divorce, and what ages and stages will they go through after the divorce?

3. Parenting styles: What does each parent do well as a parent? What are areas of disagreement between parents?

4. Keeping the focus on the children when they move between households

5. Communicating ideas for exchanging information with the other parent

6. Supporting your children's relationships with both of you

7. Making decisions together

8. Changing the parenting plan over time

9. Finally, as your children grow and change, how will your plan continue to meet their needs?
