The Social Early Neutral Evaluation (SENE) is a voluntary and confidential process that allows individuals an opportunity to reach an earlier settlement while receiving information on what the outcome might be if there is a full-length custody study. Not only is this process confidential, it also saves the frustration and expense of repeated court appearances, court fees, evaluation fees, increased attorney fees, etc.
The Process
The Evaluative team consists of one male and one female evaluator. The process begins with the evaluators meeting with the parties and their attorneys. Each party or their attorney makes a brief presentation of their case and then brief response by the each party and/or their attorney is given. The evaluators can ask questions of each party. Next, the ENE team will have a private consultation. When the evaluators return, they give feedback regarding the possible outcome of a full custody evaluation. They also offer possible settlement options. Each party and their attorney will have private consulation time to discuss their options. After the consulation time, the parties begin to negotiate a settlement. If additional information is needed, there may be another sessions scheduled. However, the process is completed within one month and the results are forwarded to the court.
